Deciding on your special cake can be as simple as looking through my gallery of images and picking your favourite. Most of the cakes I create, however, are one of a kind and involve consultation and communication. In order for you to visualise the end product I can either sketch the creation free hand or digitally. This takes the guess work out of the process and enables us to tweak the design until you are totally confident that you are ordering the cake of your dreams.

All of my cakes are baked from scratch – no premixes – and only fresh premium quality ingredients are used to create each and every cake. Designing your cake will be fun so collect all your ideas, colours and invitations together and bring them along to my home studio in Pottsville Beach for your free consultation or if you prefer we can communicate our ideas by phone or email. I will produce a detailed sketch of your bespoke cake creation for your approval or alteration. As I alone will be working on your cake from beginning to end, you are guaranteed my personal attention from design to delivery.

Case study

A special bride to be, Claire, was unable to visit me and we carried out the design process by email. The original brief was for an elegant 2 tier cake in black, white and emerald. She said she would like me to come up with a few ideas.

The three drawings below were my preliminary sketches using coloured pencils.

She liked my ideas and thought the plain bottom tier from my middle sketch would look nice with a top tier similar to the bottom tier of my right hand sketch. Claire thought she would like a more floral design and a bow. With these ideas in mind I replicated a crewel embroidery motif and produced the two digital images below.

Claire preferred the right hand image but with longer tails to the ribbons. This design translated into Claire’s wonderful hand painted wedding cake below which I enjoyed designing with her to create the cake of her dreams.
